Victor Reyes was born and raised in Harlem, New York City. He and his wife moved to Washington, DC, where he lives and works as an after-school program director at an independent Pre-K through 8th-grade school in Capitol Hill.

He began his career at The Association to Benefit Children (ABC), a Harlem-based not-for-profit organization. He worked in their Early Childhood program and assisted the director with the after-school for his community's underserved elementary to high school youth. Victor also ran a teen program where he prepared teenagers for college, apprenticeships, and other life skills. He had the pleasure of working at ABC in various capacities for eight years. Then, from 2015-17, Victor worked for two years at the NY Kids Club preschool, becoming one of the lead teachers in a preschool classroom and coaching gymnastics and other sports to children.

He moved to DC with his wife six years ago and worked as a teaching assistant at The River School for three years before becoming an after-school director at Capitol Hill Day School in the Fall of 2022.

Victor's commitment to making a positive impact extends beyond his professional career. He has been a dedicated advocate at Harlem Hospital's Family Care Center, a specialized clinic for children and adolescents living with perinatal HIV. His advocacy work has taken him to speak at esteemed institutions such as Howard University, Stigma Conference, Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, the University of Maryland, the School of Medicine, NYU's Institute for Human Development and Social Change, and the 2024 CROI Conference. Victor's continued involvement as a research associate at Howard University's Department of Psychology's Global Community Health Lab and Research consulting at The HIV Center for Clinical and Behavioral Studies at the New York State Psychiatric Institute and Columbia University is a testament to his dedication to community-building and health.

Victor enjoys biking, basketball, golf, and walks with his dog, wife, and child. He also has a deep passion for teaching and considers himself a lifelong learner. He hopes to bring a positive, energetic, and enthusiastic atmosphere to any space he enters.
